Key To Success

What do you do when you come across a key to success in a book you're reading? You ponder over it. Since I read many books and come across many keys, I thought it would be fun to share the ideas that arise as I contemplate a key to success. Reading is not just about absorbing information, it's also about contemplating, allowing the ideas to blossom within, and nurturing a seed tossed in the rich soil of the inner garden.

I got my Master's degree in psychotherapy more than a decade ago. Since then I've studied the human condition with fascination. Over the years, I've learned a singular lesson: your life does not work when you oppose your soul nature. If you want a magical life, you have to drop your inauthentic transactions with the world. You discover your own power when you spend time alone to figure out what you really love to do.

How To Achieve Your Goals

The first step, of course, is to set them. You can't get anywhere if you're not heading in that direction. Intention is essential.

The second step is to achieve them. Many people do get down to setting goals, but they don't achieve them.

A goal set in motion will be achieved...unless, you stop thinking and acting on them.

It's that simple.

For some reason people believe that the size of the goal is what makes it more possible. They also believe that they have to have the resources to achieve the goal.

This “realistic” thinking, however, has nothing to do with goal achievements.

The history of goal achievers shows that almost anything is possible.

People have overcome illnesses considered incurable; impoverished people, with no money, contacts, or opportunities, have become millionaires; and those with little or no observable talents have become world-famous performers.

The only thing that stops a goal from realization is you.

When you understand even a little about quantum physics and how the brain works, you'll come to understand that nothing is impossible.

Your thoughts are the most potent things on earth.

If they are positive, they flood your body with the right chemicals to produce euphoria and energy.

If they are positive, they attract the people, circumstances, ideas, and opportunity that you need.

A carpenter longed to build skyscrapers. He learned how the subconscious mind can broadcast his goal until they attracted the right opportunity. One day, he went to work for a wealthy contractor. This gentleman became his mentor. He taught him how to raise capital, generate contracts, and all the other details of setting up lucrative projects. The carpenter prospered and eventually was able to move in circles where he was able to build skyscrapers.

If you create the right mental environment, you will create the right physical environment in which you cannot fail.

Why Anyone Can Be Prosperous

In nature, when the season is right, all things flourish and overflow with abundance.

Similarly, any person can also benefit from the abundance of the creative force in life, the quantum soup from which all life arises. If there is an absence of this abundance, then something has gone awry, the connection between you and the source of life has been short-circuited by erroneous thinking, feeling, acting, and believing.

Dr. Joseph Murphy spent his whole life traveling, speaking, and writing about the way we can attain harmony and success, peace and prosperity, happiness and abundance in life. He said that there was a spiritual science to getting rich.

“This is a universe of law and order,” he said, “and there are principles and laws by which all of our experiences, conditions, and events take place. There is a definite law of cause and effect in everything. The science of getting rich is based on the law of belief. If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. (Mark 9:23)

“The law of life is the law of belief. To believe is to sincerely accept something as true. Believe in the abundant life, the happy life, the successful life, and live in the joyous expectancy of the best, and invariably the best will come to you. It is the belief of man that makes the difference between wealth and poverty, between success and failure, and between health and sickness.

“It is the cosmic law that like thoughts always produce like effects; therefore, any person who boldly claims the riches of the Infinite will receive them.”

The Bible says, I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)

We are all born rich in life-force. We grow rich in this life by tuning into our interests and desires. When we tune into the intelligence within, we are lifted up out of our lack, limitation, negativity, and scarcity.

Mastering the Habits Of Success

The difference between success and failure is based on behavior. Successful people adopt certain behaviors that help them move in the direction that they desire. Unsuccessful people do not adopt a specific behavior set and tend to drift through life.

Here are a few success habits that I have noticed used by successful people.

Keeping things neat, clean, and organized.

When there is dirt, clutter, and chaos, confusion develops. Not only do you spend time looking for things or sorting through things, you also have to deal with the frustration of forgetting to do important tasks. Order is essential to progress.

Taking action.

The action that is taken is actually threefold. It is first, mental action. Seeing, feeling, and believing in the goal. The second action, preparation. This is a time for study, practice, or researching what needs to be done. And the third action, is, of course, physical. Here the goal is acted upon directly because there is a clear vision, understanding of implementation, and the will to take effort.

Placing priorities.

Since time and energy are limited, a huge goal list often means that not a single one will be done. The best way to make rapid progress is to break the list into four essential goals. Once these are achieved, you can work on the next four on your huge list. Often people desiring to change every aspect of their lives take on too much, with the result that they quickly become overwhelmed and then tend to drop everything.

Seeking mutual victory.

The idea of competition is not often a healthy one. Cooperation is a much higher ideal. The win-lose dynamics may be fine for sports, but, in real life, things are often too complex to gain much from dominance. A win-win arrangement is preferable.

Understanding and empathy.

When we understand where someone is coming from, it's much easier to create rapport and harmony and come to a win-win outcome. Often we try to impress upon others our view before understanding what is happening with them. Assumptions are usually erroneous and only lead to failure for everyone concerned.

These are just a few habit traits which if you adopt will make your life easier.

Of course, you have to tailor everything according to what works for you. But the main thing is to become aware that success is not an accident, but a way of acting with conscious, willful intent.

Success is not some elusive experience. It's simply a question of implementing the right mindset.
